WallCann Embed System Q&A

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Q. What is the Embed System and what can I use it for?

The Embed System is designed to open up alternative promotional methods for you, as well as overcome some bottlenecks in the current way we work with Advocates that currently do not have a CMS or are looking for a better option.

The Embed function is ideal for quickly dropping product information onto a blog or similar site, and being automatically updated, you are not being constantly harassed by us to update product prices or delivery options.

We have also released 2 additional Embed features, allowing you to display a Buy Button or a Price only. You can access these features once you click the embed button for a particular product in WallCann Rewards. These are designed for use in Product Comparison Tables..Etc The advantage again here of course is that it becomes set and forget from your side. The only time you will need to make a change is when a product becomes permanently unavailable and we remove it from out catalogue.

Q - Do I need any advanced technical skill to use the embed tool?.

No - you don’t need any advanced technical skills.

Just click on the embed button in the specific product in WallCannRewards, choose the embed option of your choice that is available, copy the code produced then paste it in the location you want it to appear on your site. It’s that easy!.

Q – Would I lose control on product content?

The Embed approach is designed to support the Advocate in a number of fundamental ways. Specific product descriptions need to be managed by WallCann or our supplier, as these descriptions set the primary performance expectation and legal obligation with the customer.

The specific performance characteristics of an inverter for example, need to be very precisely presented to ensure both customer expectation and safety are met. It is for this reason that our system is structured so that a customer is always exposed to our product description, prior to purchase.

The role of an advocate in the system would be basically to work around this product information and generate compelling and unique pre-sell pages that precede basic product information and specs

Q - How would this affect my site in terms of SEO?
WallCann has included a NOSCRIPT tag in the Embed feed, to ensure search engines read the original content but do not discount an advocate’s site due to duplicate content.

So you can see that over time an advocate site will get the best of both worlds:
- reliable specific and accurate product content which is never out of date, and is easy to include across a whole range of web activity
- the ability to leverage their own unique content and social network, to generate sales and enquiries.

Q - How does it solve the issue of duplicate content with Search Engines?
WallCann has taken utmost care to ensure that our advocates are not penalised in various Search Engines with duplicate content issue.  It is the roll of the Advocate to add unique promotional content around core product description. This can be technical, social, experimental - but typically will focus on the ‘why will this product benefit me’.

It’s for this reason that we push the advocates to generate their own unique pre-sell content around products, which would enable them to rank higher on unique content and keywords as well as stay in the clear from being penalised.

How do you open a new product line and generate a sale in just 5 minutes?

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

generate salesOver the last few months, a large number of Australian consumers are taking advantage of the cheap US dollar and are scouting online for great deals on US or Chinese made goods offered at cheap prices.
However, after obtaining the product from overseas, consumers are faced with a big problem. The appliances cannot be powered through the Australian mains power grid. WallCann has developed a solution by designing a range of Voltage Transformers. These transformers safely convert the voltage by stepping it down from 240V to 120V, so that the US made appliances can run on Australian Mains Power.

The Engineering team at WallCann researched the best specification and arranged for manufacture. The units were produced, tested and certified arrived into stock in March. WallCann received the range, double tested them and offered the new transformers for sale online in PerformanceShop.com.au to test the market acceptance of the product.

Performance Shop uploaded the range onto WallCann 365 sales and marketing platform at 2.00pm, switched on the online marketing at 2.05pm and generated the first sale at 2.10pm.
Imagine doing this with new lines each month each increasing revenues by thousands of dollars each month?

How Google’s new search update called “Panda” could affect your brand or business

Google made one of the biggest changes ever to its search results last month now called the “Panda Update” which immediately had a noticeable effect on many Web properties that rely on the world’s biggest search engine to drive traffic to their sites.”

CNN advise that “The major tweak aims to move better quality content to the top of Google’s search rankings. The changes will affect 12% of Google’s search results, the company said in a blog post on 24th Feb 2011.

Comments from site operators lit up on the WebmasterWorld.com forum starting on Wednesday. Many webmasters complained that traffic to their sites dropped dramatically overnight, and others expressed concern that they can’t adapt quickly enough to Google’s changes to its algorithm.”

Sunny Rajgopal WallCann’s SEM Manager states that “WallCann 365 marketing platform SEO Services, don’t rely on links from low quality farms, we have always focussed on providing good quality content.”

A few “Big Media Companies” have produced mass numbers of “articles” to try and dominate search results, but those articles are often low quality.

Sunny went on to say, “At WallCann we have learnt that good quality and original content will get good search rankings regardless of media, be it Blog, News Article or Press Release. We have never simply added thousands of articles, just to cover up our SEO keywords. WallCann’s strategy is always built on white hat SEO and in building relevant content. “

As an example Sunny referred to the high relevance scores for the TIA website articles, where many TIA members and subscribers are encouraged to constantly add their own fresh original content.

WallCann is tracking the development of this most significant of Google’s search algorithm updates. Drew Canning, WallCann Operation Director said, “We are watching the rise of WallCann web builds as they get pushed higher up in free search for relevant content and keyword searches.”

WallCann also collates feedback from their many advocates to add to their bank of SEO knowledge. This information is then disseminated via WallCann’s social media Facebook, blog and advocate newsletters.

Non Profits Must Find New Ways To Raise Funds

Monday, February 21st, 2011

It is now becoming increasingly difficult for non-profit organisations to raise funds to provide the services they deliver to their community. Funding and sponsorship is now limited so non-profits are either being forced to close or to find new ways to raise funds without relying on corporate sponsorship or the support of the public.

One such non-profit organisation that has found a new way to raise funds is Solar Spirit Australia, an initiative of TAFE SA. Solar Spirit relies on the funding of sponsors and donations from the public to support the World Solar Challenge and the development of a competitive Solar Car.

TAFE SA has contracted leading web sales development company WallCann to launch a Solar Spirit online shop as a way to generate funds from the proceeds of the sale of their sponsors products and services. This initiative not only generates funds for Solar Spirit but also provides support to their sponsors.Read the Solar Spirit Case Study over here

TAFE SA Adelaide North Institute has been involved in renewable energy and has participated regularly in the Darwin to Adelaide Solar Challenge with locally built and commissioned vehicles. By embedding the solar car project into education programs, the project is both economical and practical. However, funding from sponsorship and donations provides the extra funds needed to build a competitive car.

By purchasing sponsor products and services on the Solar Spirit Online Shop, the public can receive big savings. Plus proceeds from sales contribute to the Solar Spirit and help TAFE SA build their top class solar powered car by purchasing products and services from the Shop.

Mark Ready TAFE SA Solar Project, said “The involvement of sponsors assists TAFE SA to meet the project cost of competing in the World solar Challenge”.

Redarc, a power conversion specialist company, has worked in conjunction with the TAFE SA Solar Challenge program. Anthony Kittel Managing Director Redarc said “It’s great to see students involved in developing technology skills. Redarc hope this program will encourage students to enrol in TAFE SA technology and renewable energy programs and in the process help make Solar Spirit competitive.”

WallCann has helped formulate the cause marketing strategy to support Solar Spirit Australia, working with TAFE SA to build an innovative Solar Car. Clive Wallace Managing director WallCann said, “It’s great to see the students learning practical skills and having fun building a solar technology outcome. WallCann is proud to be a major sponsor and through the web shop generate sustainable revenue.”

Clive Wallace said, “WallCann will be testing the use of QR codes displayed on live TV, posters and balloons. A viewer can link directly online to the SolarSpiritAustralia.com web shop at the Caravan and Camping Show, just by pointing their mobile phone at a balloon.”

Tips to increase Free Traffic to your website

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

The best way to get more highly-targeted traffic to your website and to rank higher in search engines in free search, is to write new fresh content pages almost daily on your website
Every Content page acts as fresh fodder for Google bots, and as new access point that can help your website crawled more often and ranked better
With a little extra effort on your part, the “More Content Pages = Better Ranking + More Traffic” equation can be used to your advantage.

Below are few tips to help you increase traffic back to your site:

  • Original Content Pages- Coin a new term or phrase. This gives you a chance to be the first to discuss some new topic in your niche and create Content pages around them
  • Treat Every New Article Like It’s Reaching a New Audience - Target those visitors who haven’t read any of your content before. By doing that, you’ll increase your chances of making contact with that audience
  • Explore using new keywords - There could be hundreds, maybe thousands of web surfers out there looking for information similar to what you’re offering. You just haven’t found them yet. See what keywords you are currently targeting and stay open to using new keywords to reach a new audience in your content.
  • Reviving Past Content Pages - Over the long haul, old article content brings in steady traffic. These types of articles should be your main focus. Use them to build the foundation of your article inventory. Timely articles may bring in more views initially, but the number of new views each month will taper off eventually.
  • Stay in Tune With Trends - Take time to research current keyword trends. If you’re just starting out, try keyword research tools like Word tracker, Google Keyword Tool. Once you have a substantial article inventory, you can use the stats from these keywords tools to determine the most popular keywords, that you can use in your content.
